I feel like I am out of contact with people. That is mostly my fault. When you don't live near anyone, you have to make an effort to talk with friends. I think I'll make some of that effort posting here more regularly. Let me know if you think I should switch to a different blog website.

Thoughts of the moment:
DTV is a huge rip-off. Thank you US government. Better picture, but the audio and picture skip every 2-3 seconds. I suppose I could buy a bigger antenna and put it up in my apartment somewhere. This is after paying $20 for a converter box. After a taxpayer coupon of $40. All this so the FCC can sell off spectrum and make a ton of money.

Obama is cutting my taxes. And the taxes of people who don't pay taxes. Should be interesting to see him do this.

Bad weekend for Donovan McNabb. His Big East career rushing TD record was broken by Pat White of WVU. (White has 3 more games to add to the total. He also is the #1 QB for career rushing yards in D1A history.) Then McNabb is benched at halftime for Kolb. Both quarterbacks sucked a lot.

WVU: Not the best season, but they will be going to a bowl game. I hope it is someplace cool. Katy and I will be going whereever that is. Last week's SI.com prediction was in Alabama. Oddly enough, this will be my first live football game since my HS 0-7 football team beat James' HS football team.

HP Laptop since last December: One dead hard drive 15 days into ownership. One dead DVD/CD-RW drive. I got a free HD, but I haven't gotten around to calling the customer support to get a new drive. Dell or Apple from now on.

Last movie seen: Max Payne. Pretty sweet. Very much like the video game, so I enjoyed that a lot. No first person like in Doom, and I was ok with it.

Lancaster Bed and Breakfast: A great place to relax and reconnect after a bad week. Pretty cheap to stay. Obviously taken care of by an awesome Mennonite couple. Lots of cool bibles and other various christian stuff lying around. (Don't count on their movie selection. Amish Barn Raising was the best one.) Being close to the Outlet mall is pretty sweet too. Expecially with the economic downtown turning up the sales. Most places at the mall were 30-60% off the entire store. No tax was pretty cool too. Take that Maryland!

Birthday celebration: My nuclear family went to a hockey game in Hershey. Lebonon Valley College vs. Elmira College. LVC was very outmatched. It was still hockey. I really miss college hockey. I really like my family too.

Thanksgiving: It will be sweet. I'll be up in New York. Katy looks forward to meeting my extended family. If anyone wants to say 'hi' or do some crazy early shopping, give me a call at 443-986-1346.

Roch-cha-cha

Great weekend:
Friday:
bad weather for driving, but I made good time anyway.
RIT hockey couldn't score and it ended 3-1.  4 posts and 4 open goal misses.  They controlled the game, but couldn't find the back of the net.  Good times with Matt Marsh.
IV had a euchre tourney.  Steffens and Sones won against all comers.  I left about an hour into it with Salim.  We went to his place and hung out.  Drew and Stefan tried to come, but got a flat tire.  Salim brews a mighty good beer.
In bed around 2.

Saturday:
No raquetball so I slept until 11:30.
Visited with Val for a while.
Visited with Shijo for a while.
Went to the Men's Baby Shower (while the wives are away, the boy can play)  My first game of Settlers.  I had 9 points and Jeff won next to me.  Played Hunters and Gatherers and came in last.  I need to learn long term strategy.
Went to Moe's for a burrito.
RIT Hockey figured out how to score tonight.  The first shot went in.  It ended 5-2.  There was a large group of IVers.  About 15.
Most of us went to Salim's after to hang out.  (we met in S lot and I did doughnuts for about 10 minutes.  I love my MINI)  Some pizza, brownies, and great tea.  There was a Dridsach (sp?) tourney that I sat out and chatted with Cre8edtopraiz.  I got in on the Carcassome game and did ok.  I only drew two city tiles the whole game so I lost out on any city points.  I wasn't lapped at least.
Bed around 1.

Sunday:
Up early enough to shower and get some Tim Horton's before church.
Saw Jill and Lee.  It was good to see them.
Christina and Anti-Dan go to Browncroft now.
Apparently the deaf contingent was a little low, but it looked good.
Julie was the interpreter for the service.  I love seeing her sign.  She is very good.  I forgot how much to need to train to read sign for a long time.  My eyes started burning about half way through the sermon and I was able to look away so I didn't get a headache.
The sermon was on how you think about the wealth God has given to you.  I will think about it a lot more in the near future.  I was looked at as an expert in the college class, since I am actually trying to live with positive income.
Steak cooked with bacon, green beans in sherry, garlic potatoes, corn and a coconut brthday cake.  Steffens, Marsh, Arricka, Eric, Brennan and me partook.  Took most of the afternoon, which was relaxing.
Old-timers superbowl party (and James' birthday).  Great time and got to see a bunch of people I hadn't seen yet.  Kim looks good at 8 months.  Ali's stromboli was as good as always.  Great time had by all.  Time Warner didn't do a very good job broadcasting in HD.  Annoying.  Otherwise, an amazing time had by all.  Except Punchy, but the Patriots can't always win.
Came back to 189 to be declared Ice Cream King at Ice Cream O'Clock.  Eric made me an excellent cookies 'n cream with chocolate sauce bowl.
Stayed up a while chatting with Matt and Steffens until 1.

Monday:
Up at 5:45.  Out by 6:15.
Another Tim Horton's coffee.
Some Dunkin Donuts coffee and the donuts that Katy loves (peanut butter)
Some Juice.
Lunch at Aviation.
360 miles back to work.
32mpg for the trip.
No major weather or traffic

I'm ready to go back again.
